Hiroshi Noda is one of Japan’s leading realist painters and a key figure who has played a central role in shaping the contemporary figurative art scene. After graduating from the Oil Painting Department of Tokyo University of the Arts (Koiso Ryōhei Studio), he worked as an illustrator before devoting himself fully to painting. Throughout his career, he has consistently pursued highly detailed realist expression.
In the 1980s, he received the Prime Minister of Japan Award at the 58th Hakujitsukai Exhibition, among other honors. His works have been exhibited in museums both in Japan and abroad, and he has been the subject of numerous curated exhibitions as well as large-scale retrospectives. In addition, he served as a professor at the Faculty of Art, Hiroshima City University, where he made significant contributions as an educator by mentoring the next generation of artists.
