Henri Le Basque is a painter who occupies an important position within the context of Post-Impressionism and Fauvism. He maintained close relationships with major artists of the early 20th century such as Picasso and Matisse, and together with Matisse and others, he was involved in the founding of the Salon d’Automne, exerting a significant influence on the development of modern French art. His works are held in leading museums around the world, including the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo.
