Hugues Claude Pissarro is a French painter and the great-grandson of the Impressionist master Camille Pissarro. While inheriting the Impressionist tradition of capturing light and color, he has developed his own distinctive style through numerous paintings of cityscapes and harbor scenes. His works have been exhibited and collected internationally, earning him recognition throughout Europe and beyond.

The title translates as "The Entrance to Granville Harbor".
In this work, Pissarro depicts sailing ships moored in the harbor with vibrant colors and delicate, Impressionist-inspired brushwork, beautifully conveying the lively atmosphere and luminous quality of the historic port.
