Remarks: With lid; signed by the artist and marked “Sèvres” on the bottom

This pitcher was created by Taxile-Maximin Doat, a ceramic artist active at the Sèvres Manufactory in France. It beautifully reflects the decorative elegance and refined forms characteristic of the Art Nouveau period.

The smooth, milky-white glaze is adorned with a medallion depicting a cherub, along with delicate ornamental bands. The upper section features a structured and refined decorative pattern, while the lower section is enriched with flowing motifs and a more expressive, painterly use of color.

Combining both decorative beauty and functional form, this piece exemplifies the elegance associated with Sèvres works of the period.

The base bears the artist’s signature as well as the “Sèvres” mark, indicating its origin within the manufactory.
