Morihiro Wada was a Japanese ceramic artist known for combining traditional pottery techniques with a modern approach to form. He studied under Kenkichi Tomimoto and exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition.

This work is a kakehanaire, a flower vase designed to be hung on a wall. Its flowing, organic form is covered with patterns resembling the grain of cedar wood, combining practical function with sculptural beauty.
