Charles Théodore Perron was a French sculptor active from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century. From 1895 onward, he exhibited regularly at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français, building his reputation through sustained participation and award recognition. His work typically combines academic mastery of the human figure with a strong narrative sensibility, while also aligning closely with the Art Nouveau era’s fascination with decoration and scenes of everyday life. Alongside rigorously modeled figurative and allegorical subjects, he produced episode-like genre sculptures and decorative groupings—works that stand convincingly as independent sculptures yet transition naturally into the contexts of objects and interior ornament. This breadth, spanning Salon sculpture and the decorative arts, is one of Perron’s most distinctive strengths among his contemporaries and a key reason his work continues to appeal to collectors and interior settings alike.
